Help and contact
Everything goes to one address: hi@hutscanner.com
HutScanner is made by one person, and every message is read by that person. If something is wrong, telling us is the fastest way it gets fixed.
Something is wrong with a hut
The most useful thing you can send us. Include the hut name and, if you have it, the region or a link to its page.
Worth reporting:
- The booking link is dead, or goes to the wrong hut.
- Availability does not match the hut. We show beds free and the hut says it is full, or the other way round. This is the one we most want to hear about, because it usually means a booking system has changed shape underneath us.
- The hut is closed, gone, or is not really a hut. Unstaffed bivouacs and day-only restaurants sometimes come through the source data looking like places you can sleep.
- The details are wrong - the phone number, the altitude, the name, the position on the map.
- A route looks wrong. Especially one that sends you somewhere no sensible person would walk.
A question, or an idea
Ask anything about planning a trip, or tell us what the tool should do that it does not. Feature requests genuinely do get built.
A privacy request
Email the same address with what you want and we will deal with it. See the privacy policy for what is held and why.
What to expect
One person, in a European timezone, who also has a job. Most messages get an answer within a few days. Something clearly broken usually gets looked at the same evening.
We cannot book a hut for you, change or cancel a reservation, or contact a hut on your behalf. Bookings are between you and the hut, and we never sit in the middle of one. See the terms of use.
